Martha Scanlan!
Since first gaining national attention for her songwriting at the prestigious Chris Austin songwriting contest at Merlefest in 2004, Martha Scanlan has covered a good deal of ground, creatively and literally. Her voice was featured on the soundtrack to the film Cold Mountain, when her former band Reeltime Travelers caught the attention of T-Bone Burnett. Subsequently she toured as part of the Great High Mountain tour with Alison Krauss & Ralph Stanley.
Her first solo album, The West Was Burning, featuring production by gifted multi-instrumentalist Dirk Powell and soulful performances by Levon and Amy Helm among others, was released in 2006 by Sugar Hill Records to wide critical acclaim. Dirty Linen called it "a revelation, an instant classic and one of those rare albums that defies genre and generation. Scanlan evokes western landscapes as effectively as Georgia O'Keefe did on canvass."
Her song "Little Bird Of Heaven", was recently featured in celebrated American novelist Joyce Carol Oates latest book by the same name (a version of the song recorded with Dirk Powell is available for download at itunes and amazon.com).
Having returned to Montana after a long hiatus in Eastern Tennessee exploring the roots of old-time traditional music, she currently lives and works on a hundred year-old ranch in Eastern Montana between tours in the States and in Europe. Her eagerly anticipated next album is a collection of songs from that place.

Jayme Stone & Friends! Jayme Stone keeps an ear to the ground. His curiosity and unlikely set of reference points started
early with the quirky physics of the banjo, led to a mysterious librarian who stocked his local public
library with a vast trove of banjo recordings, and landed him long-lasting lessons with a series of
maestros, from Béla Fleck to Bill Frisell. Influenced by Japanese poetry and Brazilian literature and
featuring what he calls a -tiny symphony that takes place inside an imaginary light bulb-, Stone’s
album, The Utmost, won the 2008 Juno Award for Instrumental Album of the Year.
Stone is at work on new album that explores music based on folk dances from around the world:
hornpipes, mazurkas, straphspeys and sambas from Sweden, Scotland, Brazil, North America and
more. The album will feature fiddle pioneer Casey Driessen, gravity-defying guitarist Grant
Gordy, Gaelic songbird Julie Fowlis, nyckelharpa craftsman Olov Johansson, trumpet great Kevin
Turcotte and others. Recording is set for spring 2010 with an album release in fall 2010 (Canada)
and spring 2011 (US and Europe).

Steve Kimock Crazy Engine with Melvin Seals!
Kimock's latest project, named Crazy Engine, is also approached with "a bit of the old and a bit of the new" logic.
The line-up includes the legendary Hammond B3 player Melvin Seals, known for his twenty years with the Jerry Garcia Band, as well as his son, John Morgan Kimock on drums. Rounding out the quartet is accomplished singer-songwriter and cello player, Trevor Exter, who was plucked out of the NYC indie music scene to fill the roll of bass and vocals.
This arrangement of seasoned players and talented youthful musicians blends with Kimock's innovative mind for music - and foretells a merge of his vintage appeal with a modern twist, to befit music lovers of all types.
